    Default Thursday evening 5/28 report


    Have not been catching much in Lake Verret so they said go south, so south I went. Rode to Dulac then went further south in the boat!!

    Fished from 3 to 7:30 put 56 trout and 2 reds in the boat!!!

    The top red is 36 in /21 lbs the bottom one is 38 in / 26 lbs

    Wow I have been wanting to get in on some reds for a long time but I don't have the gear guess that's a good reason to make a trip to bass pro I don't think my 14 foot jig pole will put one of them in the boat. Very nice picture and thanks for sharing

    cyberwolf, I landed 2 redfish in the area of 5 pounds on jig poles. It was a fight, but an enjoyable one.

    Same here. I have landed quite afew 4-10 pound redfish on jigging poles. As long as you got enough line or in my case backing on a fly reel not had to land. Have also taken a jigging poke in the winter when they are polled up in canals just to have fun

    That being Said in general any bass rod /reel is perfect for redfish
