Kept 4......two sacs 15" & 13"......two bass.... 17" Kentucky (about 2 1/2 #) & a small largemouth.....bite was early....fished 6 to 11...all on shiners....ran across CeeGee and his wife at the launch when leaving to beat the rain.....notice the pretty blue color on that bass....he bit like a gar and fought like a choupique....still had a few eggs left.....fish for supper last night.....mama's happy.....

That is a Spotted bass, some people call them Kentucky bass. There are some in some lakes in La., but creeks and rivers usually have a larger population of them. Great fighters. We use to catch a lot of them on the upper Calcasieu River, and some of the smaller tributaries off it. A 2 1/2 pounder is a large one for La.
Nice catch. Tiger we catch them above stack pole area but none that big.
wife said it was delicious.....she sautés it in a skillet ....
