Nice catch. I've about give up on pulling crankbaits - too many catfish for me. Maybe it's just Toledo Bend, don't know. I've long lined with Skip using road runners who is a master at the technique. I do enjoy that.

Phone also has a speedometer on it. LL is the most efficient way of fishing that exist.
Before I tried long lining I would power troll; that is to spider rig running 0.7mph or better. This was before I had a depth finder with GPS; I would use a hand held GPS that I also used for hunting.
I generally long line at .2 to .8 MPH and this year it's been more of less than .5! Too many fish still had eggs even once they moved out to the 15'/16' water depth around Hydrilla!
