    Default Playing Hookie on Tuesday

Bossman is letting me take off Tuesday so I think I will be heading to D'arbonne for the day (haven't been out in awhile so have had nothing to report for some time). Hope to see some of you out there too! Look out for the OD green grizzly tracker with the CDC sticker on the port bow.

Will give a report good or bad...hopefully good!

Anyone know where to get shiners around there or are jigs just doing the trick right now?

    Good luck to everyone else!

If you come down I-20 and then go up HWY 33, you can get shiners at a Chevron convenience store about 3 miles north of I-20. The store is on the left at the end of the four-lane. They sell shiners by the pound or sometimes they will have bags already made up with around 50 shiners in them. They also sell a mean sausage and egg biscuit. You gotta have one. Good luck. I may play hooky too. Got the idea from you.

They sell by the pound now? Never heard of that before. I am used to them going by the dozen or so. My mother in law did recently buy me a cast net so I may read up on rules and regs for the use of those and see how that goes. Few people I work with use them quite a bit on the Red I think

    Thanks for the info Pastor!

Made it out and the trip was a bust. TONS of boats on the water though. Fished on the east and west side of Hwy 33 and lots of people concentrated on the little cove by the southwest part of Hwy 33 near that launch. Parking was at a premium so if you didn't get there early enough you were playing musical boat launch. Water is still really muddy but at about 62 degrees. Wind picked up quite a bit too so what I did get out of the trip was that I need to upgrade my anchor a little bit lol. Talking to a few guys who were leaving too around the time I was that was the theme of the day. Not so many bumps or catching. Seems like they want to move shallow but the bright sun and high winds/fishing pressure probably move them away.

But any day on the water is better than being a work. May try Cypress (Near Benton) this weekend or Bisteneau heck maybe even one of Barksdale's lakes. With the good weather in the forecast I'd be a fool not to Lol.
