That's exactly what I use! Works perfect. When I was looking at them at the store a lady next to me was looking at me funny when I was investigating how they worked and admiring the different colors.

RMGeorge, you have the same red boat as I, and now the SpyderLocks I have as well. Interesting. I bought an extra base plate to mount in the back for pulling crank baits. I understand the frustration, been there and done that as well. When in standing timber, only two rods go out when I'm by myself. Open water, on or next to the river channel, I'll run three.

It gets much easier with a little experience. You'll learn how to handle all the gear pretty quick if you keep at it.

I would love to do be able that....however, I have to break mine down and lock them in the rod box.....and lock all the other storage compartments.....keep them locked up until I get ready to launch.....otherwise they would be gone...had some stolen from out of my boat years ago under the carport.....Didi's son and a friend stopped at McDonalds in Plaquemine before daylight one morning going fishing and someone stole all the rods laying in the boat.....and they were only inside just a few minutes....I either keep my truck hooked and locked to the trailer or keep a lock on the trailer......and we live in a very nice neighborhood.....sad what you have to do but that's just all part of it.....

sounds like my first time but now I'm hooked. you will get the hang of it. I use braid with a 18in mono leader with 2 hooks my weight is on the braid above a swivel. I keep extra leaders made wrapped up on a piece of one of those floating noodles.

The first thing I realized was that a good rod transport rack is needed. Can anyone suggest a good one? Like the looks of G's.
Guess I'll just take my chances with thieves unless traveling overnight in unfamiliar area. I never worry about it at home.

E-Z Poleholder on the MS board makes some great rod transport racks. When I stay over night somewhere I take the rods out and put them in the room I am staying in.

I saw somewhere here in the forum lockable transport racks. Can't recall where though.

Driftmaster has lockable racks.

A couple of them have lockable racks......but the reels can still be easily removed on the one I looked at.
