OK....I got pictures too....I love those pear shaped corks.....I got some corks like Danny's but I like these because the plunger that goes inside the cork is shorter.......when your line is wet, it will tend to cling to surfaces.....so, I figure the shorter the plunger, the better the line will slide thru it......ie, less surface for the line to cling to....this is my shiner set up....I also like the pear shape cork because I figure it will have more resistance while a fish tries to pull it under, thus helping to set the hook......I add the weights to help get the shiner down and stay down......that way, he swims around like a pendulum below the weights.....also, on the bobber stopper....be sure your line is wet when sliding it up or down your line.....it's easier and reduces wear on it giving it a longer life......

Bruce, you just gave me an idea. I'm gonna cut the black tube off to make it the same length as the cork!! Man thanks vet, we really had fun with this.

A pop rivet makes a good sleeve for turning a regular cork into a slip cork. Just slide the rivet(un-popped of course) into the top end of the cork and slide your line through.
Can't take credit for this idea, I read it on here in one of the forums. Had to try it and it works like a charm.

Thats what I have been doing for a number of years now....I cut them off even with the cork.....I also sometimes buy peg corks that you run the line thru and shove in a peg to lock it to the line....instead of fishing them as fixed corks, I shove the peg in tight.....then drill a small dia. hole thru the peg, then use it as a slip cork

"G".....the peg on the one I use is removable so you can use it both ways......3 corks for 79 cents at Academy.....
