Bruce, I went and looked at my bobbers. Basically the bead is built in to the end of the tube. I have used the kind you need beads for before I found these.

They come like the one on the right. I shoved one of the tubes from one of those into the kind I like to use.

Bruce, you just gave me an idea. I'm gonna cut the black tube off to make it the same length as the cork!!:ThumbsUp Man thanks vet, we really had fun with this.
A pop rivet makes a good sleeve for turning a regular cork into a slip cork. Just slide the rivet(un-popped of course) into the top end of the cork and slide your line through.
Can't take credit for this idea, I read it on here in one of the forums. Had to try it and it works like a charm.

Thats what I have been doing for a number of years now....I cut them off even with the cork.....I also sometimes buy peg corks that you run the line thru and shove in a peg to lock it to the line....instead of fishing them as fixed corks, I shove the peg in tight.....then drill a small dia. hole thru the peg, then use it as a slip corkQuote:

That's pretty cool. I use the Thill corks which don't require a bead due to the opening size. Since I use a 10/2 braid it's difficult sometimes to thread the line through since it's so limber. I believe I'll try the smaller corks you guys have posted along with a bead to make it easier. Thanks.
