Pastor,
I think I can speak for Doc as well, we are here as always checking in and reading post. So great to know others are thinking about us, it just gets so busy at times and I disappear from here or so it seams. I am always here if anyone needs to contact me, I will see the post or PM's you send.
A little update on what has been keeping me busy, of course work..we are short handed and working a lot of our days off at my paying job. Also my club duties and promotion work kick into high gear this time of year. The BSCA (Bayou State Crappie Association) is doing well, we are having fun and catching some great fish. An official announcement has not be made anywhere but facebook... as we are still in the beginning stages but we will have a new division of the BSCA moving into the Central Louisiana area and headquartered in the Alexandria area. I have help in that area and places like Saline Larto will be on this division destinations for the upcoming season. So Busy Busy lots of work to be done.
In addition we are upon the new year and this new year brings Crappie Masters to North Louisiana to fish a great National Qualifying event on Darbonne, Caney and Lake Claiborne. I am busy also working on this project and helping to insure that we utilize this opportunity for Louisiana and show off a little bit in the Crappie World. I really hope that locals get out and fish, this is a great opportunity and a super chance at some great prize opportunities. I talk with Crappie Masters officials quite often to stay up to date and just today I picked up the promotional posters and pamphlets for this event. I will begin distributing these around the area and sharing information to help locals get involved.
Also, It is that time of year to prepare for 2015"s Crappie Promotions including Bass Pro Shops Crappie Madness, where I will once again be in full swing working with BPS to focus on our favorite fish and help build this crappie specific event and others here in Louisiana. I have some very cool announcements that I will post a bit later, but good things are taking place. There will be several Crappie Specific opportunities here in Louisiana for 2015. I am busy and have a cart full...but enjoying it all!
I will be working with another group supporting our Veterans... and taking them crappie fishing. This is a project with Hunters for Heroes here in North Louisiana, where we will provide a fishing companion and host boat to get them on the water and catching crappie. This will be on Lake D'Arbonne in late March 2015. We already have lodging set up at the state park and other groups such as the D'Arbonne Dutch Oven cookers helping with this great cause. Anyone that would like to be part is welcome we really need the support and help with this endeavor.
Also another D'Arbonne event is in the works....King of Kings (Big Crappie Payout)...an open low cost tournament that will be a single fish event and have some great payouts and door prizes for the participants. This is a promotional kick for Lake D'Arbonne and the event is made for fun easy fishing where it be from the boat or the bank for anyone to take part. This is a part of the Lake D'Arbonne Expo, and the Bayou State Crappie Association is working in conjunction with Union Parish officials to provide this opportunity.
thanks,
Brandon
