Hey, folks, I would like your opinion on painting jig heads. I have tried the powder paint and it was okay, but the eyes of the hook got filled up as well.

So, the other day, while watching my granddaughter paint her fingernails, I got an idea. I went to Walmart and bought me a couple of bottles of fingernail polish. I painted some lead jigheads I had in my tackle box and then put a clearcoat over the top of the glitter-based fingernail polish. I thought they looked pretty dog-gone good. Plus, I could keep the polish out of the hook eyes. And, with the glitter in the polish, they sure do sparkle.

Have any of you ever used fingernail polish before? If so, how did it hold up under fishing conditions? Any input will be appreciated.
