The final (hopefully) chapter...spent most of the day at the shop with my truck....my mechanic had already told me that this problem was very hard to diagnose.....mainly because the computer diagnostics did not pick up any problems.....after a lengthy discussion, he suggested replacing the "evaporative emissions purge solenoid"....so he did and added some "Seafoam" cleaner (decarbonizing fluid and injector cleaner).....headed home and about a mile away from the shop it died in the middle of the street and would not crank for about 5 minutes....went right back to the shop and this time the diagnostics showed a problem with the "crankshaft position sensor".....replace it and a "crank sensor connector".......seems to run smoother but time will tell.....ready to get back in the boat but will give the truck time to prove it's worthiness......
