He already told me it will be very hard to find....this problem does not show up on the computer diagnosis....I googled the problem and found out it is common but can be many things.....any thing from vacuum hoses to the crankshaft position sensor....no choice but to start eliminating possibilities....guess I could trade it in.....Quote:

I tried something different.....I tied up to a piling and had two poles set out on my driftmaster pole holders in open water.....then I used a spinning rod & reel and tight lined a shiner next to the piling.....dropped it to the bottom and picked it up about 2 ft.....caught 2 that way.....I like it.....love the "bump".....Quote:

The final (hopefully) chapter...spent most of the day at the shop with my truck....my mechanic had already told me that this problem was very hard to diagnose.....mainly because the computer diagnostics did not pick up any problems.....after a lengthy discussion, he suggested replacing the "evaporative emissions purge solenoid"....so he did and added some "Seafoam" cleaner (decarbonizing fluid and injector cleaner).....headed home and about a mile away from the shop it died in the middle of the street and would not crank for about 5 minutes....went right back to the shop and this time the diagnostics showed a problem with the "crankshaft position sensor".....replace it and a "crank sensor connector".......seems to run smoother but time will tell.....ready to get back in the boat but will give the truck time to prove it's worthiness......

Years ago I had something similar happen to my old Dodge Power Ram (which I still have). I narrowed it down to the fuel filter. Oh course it doesn't have all the sensors on it. Nice catch by the way - always works for me.
I don't think he owes me one......we both knew the difficulties with this problem going in.....I feel that I have the best mechanic in Louisiana and I have complete trust and confidence in him and his crew.....been with him for at least 15 years......would never go anywhere else....Quote:
