Gonna head up Saturday and try to find some slabs! I have a 16 ft jon boat and don't want to run far. I was thinking of fishin the south side of the lake since I'm coming from lafayette. Where should I try and fish! Any colors that are preferred?

There were bass boats rocking me around. I was fishing the south side over near bass haven resort and had a bass boat flys right by me going back in the cove. So I put both of my 16 ft rods out and sat right at the head of the hydrila in the little hole he was in such a hurry to fish, I patiently sat there waiting for a fish to bite.. I could see the look on his face while he tried to fight his way through on his way back out. Didn't catch anything but bass.. Next time I'm fishing the north side

Didn't find any crappie but found a few small bass

Wish you had had a grand day. Some folks are just flat out rude - totally inexcusable imo. Wife and I are going there this weekend and hope to fish Pirate Cove area. Just hope those boaters are not out. The front may bring some fish from the deeper water? Hope so

Have not seem them in shallow yet and last time I even looked was last week I went out for about an hour and still was seeing them in 30' of water in a creek and something like 20' down. I expect them shallower most any time????
