    Default D'abonne Gathering 2014

good evening to my fellow Crappie.com family.
for years i have heard "pawpaw gene" brag about how much fun they have at this annual gathering and about how great the members are. i am so glad that i was able to experience it for myself. i would like to thank everyone for such a great weekend and for being so welcoming. being able to put a face with a name is great, but i can now add the personality also and that brings it all together. i had many laughs and heard some great stories this weekend from some pretty outstanding people it was so nice to meet all of you. we had a wonderful time and look forward to next year. thank you goes out to all of you who planned and organized this event, i know personally that it takes a lot of work to pull off an event like this and it was absolutely amazing. thank you also to the guys and gals that helped out and to everyone who supplied food and door prizes.
my boys also had a blast and are ready to go back next weekend to play with their new friends in the woods. they were a little upset when i told them that it is only once a year. i am hoping that things slow down enough that we can possibly make the Toledo Bend gathering in February.

I'll second that on the bisque! Maybe we should start up a 'Gathering cook book' and each time we get together, we add a copy of the recipe for everything that was brought. I know we've all eaten something over these weekends that we'd like to cook at home!

Well...I believe there's already a recipe thread where anyone can post on here. I was just thinking of the things we've all been able to sample and really liked. Maybe everyone from the gatherings will just add their entry to the thread.

misty--it was a pleasure to meet you and your family. I really hope you can make it each and every year.

jig rig, we already have a sticky recipe thread. maybe we could make one for gathering recipes too.

Cathy, go to the top of the board and docwaldo has a thread up as a sticky (stays on top) with pictures that several of us took.
Misty it was good seeing you up there with your mom and dad, maybe next year your hubby can come too.
