Started fishing about 8am. Water is still up but nice and clear. But no water movement. Not usually good IMO on a river. Tide charts said water falling at 9am. Guess I gotta wait it out. Never moved much but the wind did finally blow and put a ripple on the water.
Started picking up fish here and there but were on the small side. Decided I had to do something different for my typical black n chartreuse tube on a 1/16 minnow head. Pull my bait box open and went with what I think is called a 1/32 oz. Madi Gras hair jig. Just the ticket. Bigger fish. I then cut some lead off my 1/16 tube and they bit it too.
Must have kept 20 or so. Nice day. Cruised down river to see the boats around noon.
Excellent pictures once again JR. Thanks.

Nice pics
Looks like a beautiful place to spend the day! Thanks for sharing!
Nice catch and pics
Good going JR. I see some places that I recognize in the photos. You've got me yearning for a river trip again.

Looks like good times as usual for ya. That river is so purty and you always have it's number.
I think I remember this place
But nothing else looks familiar.
Looks like you mightve been pretty close, but did you make it down to the rice canal?
The bite on the Pearl is weird right now. "16 under a cork in the gnarliest top you can find. And blue n white. All diff. for me
I ran down to the rice field canal all the way to the wooden bridge after checking out the wooden boats at Madisonville.I took the Osprey picture on the way to the bridge Lots of bait fish and grass. No water movement and to much grass to deal with to try fishing. Hope this winter it gets right. I love swimming the three tail down there.
Thanks for the pics; what a beautiful spot to fish
I had to google that one; Tchefuncte River on the Northside of Lake Pontchartrain, Madisonville, LA
