Hello! Awesome catch!! We are new to the Shreveport/Bossier City area and don't really know any of the best waterways for fishing! What do y'all suggest for us to get started catching fish?! Thanks

man, you have moved to the fishing meca of the south. we have no less than 12 lakes within an hour drive of Shreveport/bossier. different ones are good different times of the year. some are even in texas. I will be happy to give ya all the info I know about cypress and black bayou in Benton, as well as caddo and black bayou in hosston. cross lake is good but I have never had much luck there for crappie. lake o' the pines is AWESOME around xmas time. but you gotta buy a texas license. Toledo bend is one of the best lakes in the country for bass and crappie. holler at me when ya get a minute to visit and I will give ya some good information for this time of year.

as prefers shiners said, we are having our Louisiana gathering for crappie dot com at lake darbonne at the end of this month. we would love to put a face with a name and share some good vittles with ya. I can give ya the info about that if ya get a minute and call me. it is the highlight of the fall.

Welcome to the board! I'm not an expert at any of them, but more familiar with cypress and black bayou. Doc would still know more about it though.
