Checking in here from New Orleans. I mostly bass fish around here from a kayak, but it would be nice to get on some sacalait. I hear stories about them being around manchac/ruddock, but I'm not a believer at this point. Any other suggestions?

Welcome Yak. The rivers of the north shore of the lake and the Pearl River to the east have some good fishing. Ruddock used to be a good place but too many hurricanes and other factors have brought the fishing way down. Do a search on member Micropterus salmoides and you will see some nice catches that Adam pulls from the pearl. All within paddling distance.

Any man can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a DAD!!
Thanks for the replies. I do most of my fishing on the north shore, but it's mostly bass again. I hear the interstate ponds hold nice crappie, but most of them are private. Either way, I look forward to sharing info with y'all!
Good to have you on board.
Tell'em I'll be there.
Hey Yak,
I like the north shore rivers better than the ruddock area. Like PPG said the storms have been hard on that area. But It has been years sense I've fish it. Ya gotta go to know.
I also like to fish the Lac Des Allemends area.
Thx for the reccomendation Mr Gene
Yak,
Send me a PM and I'll getcha my email n phone #. I know a few things my way that I'd share with anyone that lives sac fishing.
Take care and tight lines
I have been fishing in Lake Ramsey on the northshore, great bass and sacs but it is private. Can't wait for the weather to get a bit better for it, looking at recent reports it may almost be time to get the line wet again.
