when I saw how little the hook was I kinda got nervous. but I had no trouble catching good sized fish. they sucked it down and I yanked them out. not sure whythey don't use a sickle hook. but it definitely works.

    original gray ghost

    knock off

If the fish are aggressively feeding, it won't matter the diff. B/c btwn those two jigs there really is NO difference.
    Lil'er hook really can't help Y'all trolling?
Ones got a loose marabou type tail really sparse and the other looks more hackle-ish in the tail. The eye location for your knot is the only real diff I can see. In which case, move your knot if there's a diff.

That wedge head has a darting effect Im sure. Wish I knew where to get some of those wedge heads, I could tie something very similar. The coarse tail may be much like deer tail mixture of blk and grey. I think I will order a few myslef.

I suppose the reason is that we never found the sickle hook to provide any advantage. Same went for red hooks, which got popular for awhile. It's had to beat that little sharp Eagle Claw.

Actually, the original Gray Ghost has always had a hackle feather tail. It moves smoother and easier than maribou or hair, and that's why we made it that way.

Hey Mark, I got Skip to tie me some last year. I got them from him at the Toledo Bend gathering but haven't got to try them out yet. Hope to change that soon!
