Best gps/ sounder for the Henderson area
I have been looking at a few different options for my boat not looking at spending a ton of money but want a good unit! I have an older black and white lowrance lms480 but don't have the chart card for inland. I know it's time to upgrade. I liked my raymarine dragonfly that I had on my big boat. Just not sure if that's the route to go.

Does the navionics hot maps south cover henderson?

No it don't. I would say you can get the hds 7. Or the new elites DSL 7. I have the 4 and love it

I have a lowrance HDS 5, which is a 5" screen along with the Structure Scan, which provides down and side imaging. You can get the HDS models in 5 ", 7", 10" etc. In retrospect, I wish I would have gotten the 7" or bigger, but the price jumps up as the bigger screen you get. However, I think there is a rebate program going on right now that makes it very attractive. You don't HAVE to get the Structure Scan, but it's amazing. These new units can do so many things that there is a learning curve to it. Especially to navigate thru all the buttons to get the info you want. Dr. Sonar has some excellent dvd's that help alot. All today's units are good. Since you already have a Lowrance, it will probably be easier to learn another Lowrance unit than a Hummingbird or Garmin. Good luck.

Are their any chart cards that show henderson?

Navionics will show Henderson with the various canals, etc. But won't show depth contours because they didn't physically map it themselves. Hers a nice link to give you an example of what the card will show:

Let us know if you have any questions.
