    Default Laccassine Bayou 7/12

Went for a trip on the bayou this afternoon. I didn't catch my first fish till 3pm. The fish were doing the same as yesterday. They would just play with the shiner. I covered 28 miles on the gps. On the way back in I stopped and fished the tops that I got hits on earlier. When the thunder started the fish started taking the shiners aggressively. When the thunder started it was a different story. I was only able to boat 8 keepers. I threw a few babies back and lost a bunch in the brush piles. The big sacs new what they were doing. They would head straight into the brush piles. I fished 2 feet off the bottom. It was nice to catch them off the new brush piles I put out 2 weeks ago. I left them biting because when the down drafts started it was a race back to the landing. Loaded the boat just in time. Sorry no pics today.

28 miles = 4 paddling days for me. In cool weather that is. Glad to see you had fun and made it in safely. That lightning can add a little tension to the moment.
