Not me. I spider rig cause I like to SEE the thump and then set the hook.

Do you guys who tight line, fish right off the bottom or just try different depths. I don't tight line much because I figure I'll get hung up real easy.

Depends upon the conditions. For the deep bite at Toledo Bend, I'll rig up a bell sinker on bottom (weight depends upon the depth/current), then tie two loop knots above about 24" apart for the gnat/shiner. That way, I can drop down and fell the brush pile/bottom and slowly reel up until I find them.

Also tight line Skip's road runners which involves casting out and slow trolling (some call this long lining). You'll feel the grass on bottom, bring in some more line.

    Or, just spider rig.

Is "Skip's" a brand? Never tried road runners, but I think I know what they look like. Does it have a spinner under the jig head?

Skiptomylu, Skip Nantz- he is a member here. He is a master when it comes to tying and knows how to pull in the big ones at Toledo Bend. I really enjoy fishing with the man. He's here:

I believe it's okay to post his link because he's a supporter and member sponsor.
