    Default Povert Saturday

The wife and I made a trip to poverty yesterday, never seen it that muddy before. Fished the north end and only managed 1 dink crappie, a cpl of bar fish and 3 or 4 catfish. Tried the open water most of the time, tried one stretch of bank but only managed to catch catfish. Was using orange head/ black/pink and blue chartreuse n glitter/chartreuse jig. No one we talked to were doing any good. I think I probably should have tried the coves on the south end. Most people were beating the banks but it would seem the crappie spawn is over on poverty. Idk.

I think it's over. I was there Thursday and only caught 8, all on north end.

Yea I told my wife I don't know why all those folks were fishing the banks, that the spawn is done. The fish should be back out in the deeper water. I hate muddy water too. I've been getting my camper cleaned up n organized. I hope to be able to move it back to YUCATAN in the next week or so. Water should be down enough to get in by the end of the week, just hope it stays down and I really hope the fishing is better than last year. It was the worst anyone has ever seen it, no one did any good. I can usually catch fish there but last year I couldn't. At least I wasn't the only one having that problem.
