HAPPY EASTER my fellow CDC members!!

Got a call from Doc about heading to Cypress yesterday, so I went and met him. Good to see him back in the saddle.

Fished Cypress Black Bayou from about 7 to 10:30. Shiners first, then tried some jigs, and had a hard time locating them. Didn't sound like anyone was having much luck. Finally found 3 good ones in about 15 ft of water, about 5 feet down. Caught them on shiners. Biggest was 13.5 inches.

Since they were't jumping in the boat, we didn't stay too long, but the weather was great, so I went home, finished installing a new depthfinder and headed to Hosston. Been wanting to try it out. Managed another 7 solid fish, not quite as big as the first 3. Didn't catch any dinks all day. First time to really get around on that lake, but I hear it's shallow all over. Couldn't find one against a tree, but in open water 5 ft deep they were biting a little. Caught 3-4 on shiners 2 ft deep under a cork, and the others on a road runner looking thing..black and green, hair instead of plastic. Thank you to whoever gave it to me.

Big surprise I found, was 8 of the 10 fish still had eggs. And I'm not an expert, but some didn't look ready to drop....for those who say they've missed the spawn, there's hope yet. lol
