    Default Larto Lake Report

We fished Larto on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Did not have much luck. Fish were still holding in bayou. Would like to know if fish happened to move toward shallow water over the weekend. Hoping to return sometime this week. Appreciate any info y'all could offer. Thanks

I would guess they are shallow according to what we did at toledo. We were catching in 2 to 4 foot of water.

Caught 22 deep Friday, no one else I talked to caught that many but I stayed in long branch deep. Saturday they shut down at sunrise, only caught 7. A few guys picked up a small number of large males on Friday shallow, Saturday someone set 50 yoyos at 2Aam, and had 40 hooked at 4AM. Second set after daylight 0 caught. Looking forward to Saturday, they should be staged or in the buttonwoods

Thanks so much for info. Talked to a gentleman from Larto today and he said ( and if anyone knows he does) that several guys caught 100 plus Saturday but weren't where other people were fishing and in about 18 fow. Said no one else did much at all. Also said eggs from this cleaned Saturday showed signs of "any minute" being ready! ). Hope to be there on that "any minute". Thanks again

I like the new moon on the 30th. If we don't get too cool this week I really think that starting Friday it could be "on" down in Long Branch. When we were there on 3-12 thru 3-16, the lake looked a tad low and dropping at that time. I think they will be easier to get to from the boat (Base of the Button Willow's or Buttonwoods as some call them) this year than last year. Pick out your favorite jig and go at it. Reaction strikes in the shallow water....Wish I could be there next week. I think they will be biting more during the day next week and besides if you drop that jig through the front door she will hit it anyway......Good luck to all....SLIP
