Anyone fish Holland's Bluff area of Bayou D'Arbonne?
I scouted out the boat launch at Holland's Bluff this afternoon. I am looking for a close to home place to put in and was suggested Holland's Bluff. The Google Earth map looks like I could get lost pretty easy but thats what a gps is for.lol
Just looking for suggestions on crappie jig colors and also what to use there for bass. Me and my two sons like to bass fish but we aren't super picky. We like to eat!

I fish it for crappie in the summer, never tried any other time of year. Down stream is good on stumps and upstream i do better on treetops. You don't have to get way off the bayou to catch. I fish anything with chartreuse in it. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum...

Right now there's a good current in the bayou that makes it hard to fish for white perch. But I've heard there's good bass fishing when the water is falling like it is now. Fish where the water is draining into the main bayou from outlets and smaller runs. If you go downstream a mile or so from the landing, be careful around what they call the "S Curves." The channel enters a large open area and the channel is pretty tricky. Lots of stumps.

Thanks for the help everyone. I am eager to get out there. I plan on going with a friend who is familiar with the channel for my first trip. It certainly looks promising!
