    Default Bayou Plaquemine - 02/22/2014

Takes a lot of courage to get up the energy to report one Chopique. The rise from last weeks rain gave me conditions that I expected to be negative. Current and muddy water. Fished south of Estherwood. Haven't heard anything from the Mermentau in a long time. Shallow Runner and Perch Jerker where are you guys?

Hey Mermentau, just took my first swing at it Saturday, first trip since October. Fished north and south of the hwy 90 landing and kept 13 all shallow, tried fishing a few deep holes we caught in this past summer but nothing doing. Although i have gotten a couple of reports of people catching deep. Most fish were caught within the first couple of hours (Fished from 8 to 1). Now that hunting season is pretty much over im hoping to get back in the swing of things.

That's good in my opinion with the conditions as they are. I thought about getting further down stream for less current, but wanted to see some territory I haven't paddled yet. Good to see you back at it.
