    Default PP and DBB Today

Today after church, I got the boat out for the first time this year and went to Poverty Point. The few trucks at the south landing pretty much summed it up. Went to the second deep channel out from the old barn and there was no one there. There also wasn't any shad or fish on the depth finder and I didn't get a bite. Went back to the popular deep channel behind the houses and there was no one there either. Also no bite. Even tried the old slough out from the landing--and no bite. Water temp was 44-47 degrees.

Stopped by D'Arbonne Bayou's Holland Bluff on the way home. The creek is rising and there's lots of trash on the water. Tried two deep holes downstream and found lots of shad and fish on the depth finder but only got one bite. Gave up, came home, and enjoyed my first porch sitting cigar of the year. It was one of God's gorgeous days whether the fish cooperated or not.

Tbone, I was at pp yesterday and got the same results, only 4 boats on the south end. And I tried everything I had at every angle.

Fishervet, no, the northern snow melt doesn't affect those bodies of water but I wouldn't be surprised if we have a major Mississippi River flood this spring when it all heads this way.

At least I didn't get skunked. Lol. You're right Tbone, it won't be long. Talking with some of locals, the winter bite sucked big time.
