If you've never fished the lake I highly recommend going with someone who has or hiring a guide. It's a huge place and a lot goes into having a successful trip over there. Unlike LA their locks and dams change the water levels at the drop of a hat which effects the fishing dramatically and can even make it to where you can't launch your boat if it's drawn down too low. Mid to late March the water levels should be getting around normal provided rains don't cause them to let water out. What's crazy is those in the video aren't even big for there.

When we went in 2012, we fished blind. No guide and no idea where to go. Luckily it was the weekend of crappie masters and all I did was look for everyone else and do what they did. I caught lots of fish and actually came home with a lot of meat and a 3lber. The fish that you have to throw back because of the length limit will make you sick and it will make you sick when you have to throw a fish back that is almost 12" and he got the hook deep in the gills. You know that fish won't survive. They really have a healthy fishery. I hope to be able to go back this spring. The level of the lake in this video is really low. IMO, Grenada deserves to be number 1 on the top 50 crappie fishing lakes but I think when they put the list out last year it was number 5. Sardis was number 1 which is also a member of the big 4 chain in Mississippi.
