Default Lake Ramsey in Covington is full of them sweet Sacalait

Howdy, first post. Just moved to Covington from West Texas and had to get on the water ASAP! This past weekend I did a little perch jerkin' from the banks of my neighborhoods 500 acre lake and the results were pretty great. I kept 21 and tossed back at least as many little ones. They aren't in spawn yet but it won't be long.

Using a little Zebco I picked up at Academy (don't laugh). Rigged up with a slip bobber set at about two feet in 12 feet of water according to the regulars. Chartreuse tailed jig is the only thing they will hit reliably.

Welcome Z, and to think some will spend thousands on boats, and maybe even on tackle and you catch a beautiful stringer on a low dollar Zebco. That's what I call making the best of a situation.

Tracker I was in Midland for a few years. I'm from Tuscaloosa originally.

Ha! That's right Gene, although I'm looking a two man fishing kayak. That's about all I would need to access some better spots in the lake.
