Default new guy from south shreveport

well i decided to start freshwater fishing...i grew up in biloxi redfishing and speck fishing...ive been to caddo lake a few times with a buddy and we were tearing up crappie and bream last summer so i went and bought a 15ft alumaweld with a 28hp sticksteer...i went to wallace lake couple weeks ago to run it after cleaning the carb and my battery went dead so the same buddy had to come out and pull me in...lol...so my question is...is wallace lake good fishing and if not where should i go to catch some fish and have some fun???i bought 3 new batteries so im good now!!!just need to catch some fish now...

Haven't been on Wallace Lake in years., but is some good fishing there. Cross Lake is great for catfish, good for crappie, though I haven't had much luck with them. Cypress is good for crappie, Grand Bayou is another good one. Sand bass are starting to bite on the Sabine. Plenty of other good lakes around close.

wallace has a nice creek off the end of wallace lake rd.
for the most part the creek is 12 to 15 ' with lots of laydowns and stumps
the last 2 years it seems the sylvania has taken its toll and its just small fish and not very many
we used to long line the main lake and now its unfishable
maybe all this cold weather will knock back the weeds and it can get going again

wallace lake is good at times, when you can fish it,,,because of the salvania..there`s no place for the salvania to go....no spillway or dam..just stuck in the lake.bistineau is where i live and fish..message me if you want to fish bistineau..i`ll put you on the fish anywhere is good to fish..just stay safe and enjoy nature

I live about 5 miles from Wallace. Used to fish the heck out of it. I know a couple of fellas that fish it regularly and do good, but I don't know where or how they're catching them.
