I wonder how momma's pond would be near Sandy Cove landing? Very nice area there, deep bar pit with lots of structure.

i've heard a lot about that place. Is it in kayak range? Winter time that would be about 3 miles from the launch for me.

I want to give that place another try now that the duck season is closed, but it's got to warm up. Looks cold as far as I can see right now.

We may be talking about two different places....I am referring to the bar pit right south of Sandy Cove Landing. And yes, you can drop your cayak right in and start fishing...it is right next to the landing.

I see what you are talking about. What about the bar pit going North. Looks like there is no access to that one by outboard on low water. Might be a yak sanctuary.

You are right, I think if the water is low you cant access it by boat. A recipe for an ambush!

Tried the pit North of Momma's Pond today for the first time and came up empty. Nice water though. Two other boats in there but didn't stay long.

Sure was a nice day to be on the water. Thanks for the report, might need to warm up. Did you note how deep it was?
