Thumbs up D'arbonne gathering dates--vote here

I have had some inquiries about when the gathering will be. I normally put up the poll around the middle of august, but I figured no time like the present. got some info for yall about the mindset of the dates for the poll. the first three or four years I attended the gathering, we had it early in November. everyone always caught plenty of fish and our gathering did not compete with any holidays. over the last few years, it has gotten later and later in the year. last year it was the third weekend of December and we had a very low attendance. CDC members were having Christmas parties and doctor appointments and it was just too late in the year. so, with the input of several members whom I truly respect, we decided to go back to offering the dates in November instead of December. so that is why these dates have been chosen for the poll.

on a sidenote, my wife and I, along with my little boy went to darbonne last year the first weekend of November and I absolutely hammered the fish. I bet I cleaned over 200 fish in 2 1/2 days. so I truly think that moving this gathering back to November will benefit everyone across the board.

everyone gets one Vote. I will leave the poll open for 31 days. if ya have any questions holler at me. I will post info on how to go about booking your cabin as we get closer to the end of the poll.

Thanksgiving is on 28 November this year.

I totally agree Doc, early November will be great as it has been in the past and will not conflict with holidays. I voted, due to having prior arrangements for the tournament I will already be there the weekend of the 8th,9th, and 10th so it's perfect for me! Doc, you can count on me in any capacity needed for any help!

    .

I know the rates for the RV camp sites went up not sure about the cabins, but still well worth the price for the fellowship that is enjoyed.

Paw Paw you got the same invite as last year if you dont want to drag your boat this far. It should work out better this time I have more experience with the big boat. LOL

Thanks Buster, undecided as of yet. I was thinking of dragging the boat so that Linda could fish with me, but too early now to make that decision. If I can have a little more time to decide I'll give you an answer a little later. It just so happens that Linda's family is having a family reunion of sorts on the week end of the 8-10 or 15-17. I'll talk to the organizer to see if we can set it on the week end that we wont be at D'Arbonne. Give Carolyn a hug for me and Kevin and Joey a high five.

okay---i got a little nervous about cabin and rv spot availability on these dates. so i pulled up the website and here is what is available for these weekends.

cabins--there are 15 available on the weekend of the 01-03. there are 14 available on the weekend of the 08-11. there are 12 available on the weekend of the 15-17. and lastly there are 15 available on the weekend of the 22-24. there are tons of rv spots available each weekend.

the website to book your cabins has changed. here is the new website. State of Louisiana Parks - Start Page once you go to the site, the first thing you will need to do is create an account. then you can book your cabin. if anyone has any problems, you can call me or call the number for the booking company 1-877-226-7652. my number is 318-272-8069.

not sure about the cost of the rv spots, but the cabins are still 120$ per night.

just wanted to put this info out there for yall. can't wait to see everyone.

Thanks for getting ahead of the game on this Doc. Any Date is OK with me; I'm sorta retired and live on Darbonne now.
Let me know what I can do to help.

Can't make it Mark. I already have plans for the week of Thanksgiving at Toledo Bend with the daughter, son in law, and grandson. They have been looking forward to it for some time, months in fact. And, whenever I go somewhere it's for at least four nights. Can't take too much time off work. Let me know if you need anything from this end. Hope to see you guys at the Toledo Bend gathering.
