twisting line issue

I use Spectra 50# braid on all my bass spinning rods (picture).....I just use Stren mono for sacs on my jig poles and my sac spinning reels but am considering trying small braid for that.....I have to continually cut my mono to remove weak spots to avoid breaking but never have any problems with my braid.....the braid on my bass reels will last 2 years easy....it only works on open face spinning.....will not work on bait-casting reels(digs in on the spool)......

ever notice when you are trying something new and you can't wait to get out there and try it out.....then you get your bubble busted.....

Sounds like its time for new line, I have 50# power pro on my Curado and its great. I did have Spiderwire Easy braid on my Browning superlight, however the rods had an issue with breakage, but the newest model is different and couldn't swap spools at basspro.:( The easy braid was fine, I could cast extremely light baits a long way, however it was tough when you had to break one off. The easy braid diameter is equivalent to either 2#, or 3# mono, but is 10# test.

I had Braided line on two of my three poles. For me it was a nightmare.when transporting to the lake or storing poles in a bundle with wraps around them. it would wrap around line guides and tie its own knots which would not come loose. A fish getting off the hook at the boat resulted in three to four loop knots and they never would come loose. I missed so many fish Rerigging, I tossed the power - Pro in the bottom of the tackle Box. I might have to get the stuff out again and respool one of my spinning reels . it is Ultralite and only holds a small amount of line

I like PP on my casting rods, however, my brother and I had similar Browning superlight spinning combos, his rod was a few inches longer. I could out cast him using the spiderwire easy braid, it might be worth looking into, it comes in a 100yd spool and is a few bucks less then PP. Both brands are made in USA

Yes it's in a green package. You can get it at academy and wall mart.

Academy has power pro, I use the 2/10 as well.

You can get it at Academy or most bait stores. It comes in different colors from moss green to black to chartreuse. It will say something like 20 lb test, but will also have the equivalent diameter of monofilament on there. For instance, 20 lb test PowerPro will be closer to 6 lb mono. I use this saltwater fishing and just tie a 15" 20 lb flourocarbon leader so the fish can not see the braided line. Very good to do with a jigpole on sacaulait also.

Very hard to break, when you get hung up the hook will usually bend or you will pull that log to you!

As for mono and line twist, it helps to put tension on your line when spooling up with mono to get it ready to stretch a little. Have someone hold tension on it while you reel or I have a friend that spools up and gets the boat going slowly, lets out all his line and ties on a crankbait and reels it in to get that line stretching:dono Works for him. Also if on the water, and have a bucket, throw your spool of line into a bucket of water and start spooling up that way it keeps a little tension on the line and lubes the line also.

I like braided line cuz of the sensitivity on a jig pole and the strength to straiten hooks.
Anything castable, give me 10 lb trilene. Dont take me brim fishing with braid, a nightmare.
Rainy days braid sticks to my rod like glue.

Braid works good on spincast reels for about a half a day.

If your gonna cast a slip cork with braid...you better call Leroy (ESB)

My favorite braid is 6lb Berkley Fireline, Crystal White.
Suffered with the smoke color for 2 yrs before givin in.
Very, sensitive line.
