    Default Verret 5-5/6

Went to sola last week to visit 2 of my daughters/son-in-laws and do a little fishing in Verret. I talked to a couple of friends of mine who were catching big numbers of bream and some wp in Crackhead. I took one of my kids on 5-5 and the other on 5-6. I decided to stay out in the lake and visit the Belle River side of the lake and catch a few of those "sweet" Verret catfish. Boy did we have a blast. Each trip we filled an ice chest with those golden beauties. Light tackle under a cork about 2' deep was the ticket. We caught a few bream as well that we turned loose. I haven't seen that many bream in the lake in several years.....good sign. I wanted to go back before I returned today but the weather flipped on all of us.....SLIP

Sounds like you did well. Hope it was warmer there than it was here. Hopefully I can offer you a trip to Black Bayou in a few weeks.
