    Default Info about toledo bend

Does anyone know, Are you allowed to have a picnic on the beaches around toledo bend... for example the island that is located in front of the pirates cove area.

Wife would love to come out and have the little one play in the sand and I and the older kid could work on catching some more crappie.

But don't want johnny law getting ticket happy either.

I have seen people do it with no issue. Just make sure you don't pick part of a State Park. They only want you to access those properties through the park.

Prowler, the island you are refering too is the one that my friend and I pulled the canoes and 4 couples in from recently. it has a nice little sandy area and would be a good pic nic area. I don't think there are any issues with spending time there. Danny

I thought you were at La. Island near S. Toledo Bend State Park. You guys were up at Toro Bay?

Sounds like Toro Bay. There are 2 or 3 islands out from Pirates Cove marina. Shouldn't be a problem. Also, you might want to consider SRA Cypress Bend. There is a very nice sandy beach there as well as a nice, new playground.

I have seen people on the nicer beaches for years and never heard of any trouble. You should also be able to find some crappie around that area!
