Default Any one in the Houma or surrrounding area want a fishing partner?

Hi, I'm new to the Houma area and want to do some weekend fishing.
I really don't know any one around here and was hoping to meet some people that like to fish.
I don't have a boat but can contrubute toward gas and bait etc...

Just looking for a group of people to fish with on the weekends.

    Thanks,

    pacmansb

Welcome to the forum Pacman, it's a good place to start. There are a lot of fishable waters around here but sorry to say most require a boat ride. I might be able to sneak in a weekend trip with you but not this one. Maybe next. I'll let you know.

If PPG takes me and swears my to secrecy, I'm gonna listen to the guy driving the boat.
But truth is not knowing the area, I'd likely get you lost trying to show you.

Welcome to the forum Pac, as Gene says, lots of fishable waters in the area where you are at. He also has a new minnow bucket !

Just an update, Sunday, I got bored and went to a canal I saw some people fishing Saturday and fished for a few hours off the bank.
I'm happy to report, it was a decent day fishing. I was hoping for crappie but only got 2 by days end.... However the catfish seemed to be hungry feeding before the front I guess. Caught 11 of those (the biggest was around a 10# blue) most were in the 2 to 3 # range. A few perch, one big red ear and one white bass.

So I had fried fish for dinner last night..

All in all my first Louisiana fishing expereince was a good one.
I just wish I had my Kayak.
I saw something tearing up the bank on the other side... just blowing up the weeds big time.
Whatever it was was activly feeding for hours and there were several of them them feeding.
I thought gar at first but I saw the tail of one I don't think it was a gar, I was too far away to know for sure... I'm thinking it was big bass feeding for the spawn.

But all in all it was a good day...

Pac, glad you found some yourself. Sounds like you had a good day despite being stuck on the bank. It looks like I'll be out of town starting Thursday so I won't be able to get with you this coming week end. I suppose you are only able to fish week ends, middle of the week would make it easier.

Tracker, I told you that bucket is for Linda.

I get off at 4:30 every day but I work Monday thru Friday. So I'm open to most evenings and most weekends.
I'm in no rush, I appreciate you taking me when you can.
I might be in a bass tournament one day next weekend, I'm waiting one a pm about that.
I need the practice, in the passing years I have been in family mode and fishing took the back seat.

    Thanks, again

    Pac
