The river is in the one of the Senic Rivers Act in Louisiana. It's supose to protect the river from clearing. You can go to the WLF web site and read the Act and the permits required.
Your tax dollars are paying a contracter to clear all the trees that have fallen into the river. By doing this they are removing fish and wildlife habitat.Also this contributes to erosion of the banks which will cause more trees to fall.
Sad to see. None of te trees are in the way of boat traffic. IMO
