Thanks for the report and real good information about jig colors. Do you think the coming cold weather might make them start schooling together?

Made a mid-day trip to Darbonne on Tues/6. Jakes was 3/4 full. Went up the channel towards Forks Ferry and kept 30 mixed fish. 9:30-2:30. Not seeing many big fish at all; had many throw backs. Caught them on the slopes fishing 14 f/d in 20 fow. Water stained alittle. Caught them on a 1.5" squid tail, chartruse (more yellow) and a dull orange head flaked (my favorite jig) and a pink nail tail jig (1.75") that I'm liking more and more espically in this kind of water. Nail Tail is no "make up" name. Its a name of a jig that dosen't look like much but it really produces (espically if you like the jig). Went back Wed/7 to Jakes and it was much slower. Had several boats around and no one was lighting it up. I kept 16 mixed fish and I didn't see anyone around me doing any better. Looking forward to going back next week after the front this w/e. Have to run to sola for the w/e. SLIP

I can't leave now; They fixen to turn on.
YES!!! Fishing should improve into next week. I think they are scattered still and with the cooler weather coming they should gather a bit. Well thats what I want to believe. There's one thing for sure, I'll be there next week to see how right or wrong I was....I'll post then. SLIP
Slip,
never fished darbonne thinking bout going sunday 11/18 any pointers where to go launch or such
thanks big john
BJ, I'm goin in the morning. I will be running alittle late. I'll probably dunk the express about 7:30 hopefully. I've been launching at Jakes which is at the Farmerville side of the hwy 33 bridge. Lake is 5' low and picking up is not as easy as usual but its doable. The channel runs under the bridge and the boats will indicate where the channel is. Watch your depth finder. Find it and start fishin. May only have to go out a hundred yards. I've been going to the right out of the launch and fishing the edge of the channel 14' deep or so. Hope this helps...SLIP
Thanks slip any particular color or types of jigs or what about minnows i will be spder ridding
I use chartruse alot, I like some pink, I also like grey/pink hair, grey/chartruse hair. I don't use shiners but shiners are.....shiners. I like Bobby Garland Blue Thunder as well as BG in the above colors. Stinger Shad...ditto. Bottom line, start with your favorite and go from there. I love them all. Just got to drag it in front of his nose and hope he's hungry. Good Luck...SLIP
