Got to Youngblood landing and the fog was super heavy. So we fished the open area at landing till fog lifted around 9:30am. While there caught 7 sac au laits, 2 bass,1blue channel, and 1 gar. Went to buzzard roost area and fished for about an hr or so scored a big zero. Hope someone did better

Last time I was there about 2 weeks ago there would be 15 to 20 boats on the back side of the island every morning and aftrnoon. I had a list of honey do's as long as my arm and the warden was with me ( wife ). Finally got the list completed so this next time we will be fishing, I hope. I heard most fish were being caught on shinners.

I will be in the Marksville area during the Thanksgiving Holidays. Can you advise me on where to do some crappie fishing? I fish out of a kayak.

I would say fish out of Youngblood Landing or maybe even Woodsons Landing off Hwy 115 if you want to fish Larto or Spring Bayou it is closer to Marksville. I don't know much about Spring Bayou other than I think it is closer to Marksville. If you do decide to fish out of Youngblood becareful there are a lot of those 2 speed guys, engine is shut off or wide open. There might be some other guys on here that can give you ideas too. Good luck on where every you decide to fish.

Spring Bayou will be closed to fishing before 2pm starting this weekend until after the holidays.Saline/Larto is good choice, also Big Creek,Chicot and the Red River in oxbows. Sooter when you get over here,if you want to meet for a cup of coffee and I could give you directions to different lakes.
