    Default d'arbonne 11/2-11/4

well me and the family went to darbonne and stayed at the state park. had a total blast. went to all four playgrounds at the state park. AND i got to fish a little too. i caught 36 friday afternoon 130-500. then i caught about 87 saturday morning daylight til 1130. then i caught another 28 friday afternoon with the family in the boat withme. brody caught about 6 crappie. the only downside was the fish were small. most were between 10 and 12 inches. only caught one good fish all weekend. and oddly enough it was the first fish of the weekend. i thought they were all gonna be big, boy was i wrong. i took pics of the fish saturday dinner time at the cleaning station.

Great deal, all days are better than by personal best of 17. Where did u get your minnows? We're they a decent price? I fish jigs only, but been thinking about running a few minnow rigs.

Hey Mark! Maybe you're just getting the smaller ones out of the way for us for next month!

Sounds like you all had a good time. Always good to get away with the family for some quality time!

can't believe i forgot to post this. i caught EVERY ONE on a jig. i didn't even buy the first shiner. i talked to rick (luvtofish) and he told me he had been having trouble catching them on shiners. so i broke tradition and fished the infamous 4 jig rig. the two colors that were the best were blue grass bobby garland and popsicle from southern pro tackle. jig head didnt seem to matter much. i started out trying a bunch of different jig colors, but settled on those two as my go to.

tigerfanatic--there is a place to buy shiners just off of hwy 2 to the east (towards the walmarts). it is right before oreilly auto parts on the north side of the road. it is called ANDERSONS. i think i have their number. 318.368.9669. that is where i always buy shiners when i am at darbonne.

i can assure you that i will fish shiners in december. there was so dang many shad i think it would be hard to convince a crappie to eat a shiner. i did see some guys fishing shiners and they weren't doing much. hope this helps.

Great weekend Mark! What makes it so great IMHO is you had the family with you to share it!

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!

I couldn't have been far from you. Fished with my son from 2 til dark 30 Saturday night. Stayed just past all the boats on the opposite side of the bridge from jakes. Kyler caught 7 keepers and he was ecstatic.
