    Default Cypress Black Bayou

Is there anyone near Black Bayou that can tell me what the water's like right now? Just wondering if it's deep enough to get into...or maybe paddle around in. Thanks

    Default Cypress Black Bayou

Cypres launches are good may be better to launch at park. It is plenty of water in Cypres to fish in a friend told me today that the bass have sores on a lot of them and are skinney. The Crappie I caught two weeks ago were fine. Black Bayou is low and no launches are open. Good luck if you go.

Thanks Mike. A friend's mother in law let me put my pirogue in from her back yard and I paddled over to the bridge. Only had jigs with me and found 1 dink. Also caught a bass and a google eye along the bank on a black/chart curly tail jig I started tossing. Met a fella there that lived nearby and he had about half a dozen gills and another small bass that he offered to me, so I managed to come home with enough to eat. Not sure I'm gonna try the paddle thing again though. Took a good 30-45 minutes each direction and last night my back was so sore I had trouble getting out of the recliner. It's TOUGH gettin older and being outta shape to boot!

glad you got some dinner and even more glad you got to get out and go. nothing soothes the mind more than a day alone on the water. it will get better, just need some water and some cooler weather.

Scott, how lucky you are to be so old, ha. I don't think that you need to give up the pirogue, you need to use it more often to get in shape. At least you got to eat some fish.

You're right PPG! Just have to convince the wife that my health is more important than painting the windows and replacing flooring! I know in my mind, she should see the exercise and stress relief as an obvious investment in my well being! LOL

GS, then I'd have to sell the boat to pay for the shopping and we'd both be out of business! lol
