    Default Anacoco Lake

Is there any bank fishing at Anacoco Lake? My father-in-law was talking about taking a weekend camping trip up there and my mother-in-law wants to fish while we are there.

    Thanks

    Hi Warren,

Welcome to Vernon parish, I think you'll like Anacoco. Most folks blow right on past both of our local lakes and head on up to Toldeo Bend. And they miss a real gem by not fishing Anacoco. It's a really pretty place, nice and quiet. You won't have all the boat traffic and crowds to bother with.

There are a few places that you can bank fish. I would guess either the spillway park or Sandy creek boat launch or you could try VFW landing on the east side of the lake. It's been a long, long time since I fished those places. But with persistence, I think you'll have some fun.

Hope you folks enjoy yourself and catch some fish.

Thanks. We camped at Anacoco Lake Spillway Park in Sept while we hunted at Clear Creek. He was wanting to go back there.

Mother-in-law doesn't care what kind of fish she catches, just so she catches something. Me, I would like to tangle with some of the goujons (flatheads) in the lake.
