    Default used fishing equip

Anybody know where I can donate old but in good shape fishing equip (mostly rods-reels). Got some stuff I never use and might as well give it to someone who can help kids or less fortunate enjoy our sport.

Check with the KDFWR, or State Troopers ... don't they have some kind of camp or program that could use them ?? BadBrad might know something about that ... might want to PM him.

see if your public library would take them to let kids or anyone check them out, offer to service them occasionally (change line, clean and oil) it might start some underprivledged kid to start fishing.

Elderly housing units can use them, they are on fixed incomes and around here take them on fishing trips with the equipment

Contact the larger state parks around you. I know the recreation director at Barren River Lake SRP. She is always taking kids and groups on fishing trips and teaching people how to fish. I am sure that other state parks have similar programs that would be glad happy to be able to put your equipment to good use.

Default I give rods to kids

For the past 20 years I have been refurbishing rods and reels to give
to kids in the area and clubs sponsoring kids outings.
Most of the rods given me needed new guides, handles, tips or what ever.
Usually I put all new guides on them, finish them with a two part epoxy
finish. They look good as new and in many cases are better!!
Been building custom rods and doing repairs for 35 years now....it's a labor of love and gives me a chance to try some new colors and wraps!

If none of the above ideas appeal to you, I'd love to have them to give out at a kid's fishing clinic my church is sponsoring and I'm teaching, on May 16. I've got at least two of my own I'm pitching in. PM me if you are interested.
    thanks,
    Joe

Thanks for all the suggestions. I donated stuff to Camp Currie a few days ago.
