Dont troll any! Been fishing right over structure in 12-20 feet with live bait and 1/24 Crappie Pro jigs with a wasshoppah.

Thanks for the info. I have fished for catfish and usually do pretty good.
I have camped at Holmes Bend for about 10 years and really love the lake.
I have not fished for crappie but would like to try. Do you catch any in the Holmes Bend area or the other end of the lake? I am a retired teacher and really appreciate any info you can give. Also are there any maps to show where it shows brush or structure? Is the lake up too much to fish now?
My wife and I have been there two times when the lake was over the ramps. It is about 2 hr. drive and I would rather come when the lake is normal.
    Again thanks!!!

Here's a website that you should keep in your favorites :

    Louisville District Daily Lake Report

It shows the water levels for Green River Lake, Cave Run Lake, & Taylorsville ... along with others. If you click on the current level (highlighted number) of the lake ... it takes you to a chart that shows the previous 12 months of rise/fall water level scenario, and precipitation amounts, up to the current level. Which, by the way, is 10ft over pool right now ... so, yes - the lake is up too much to fish, right now

I've caught Crappie from both ends of the lake. But, I've done my best around the area from the dam, around the island, and up into Robinson Creek.

Most maps will show you the bottom contour, and any fish attractor spots put out by the KDFWR. I use the Fishing Hotspots maps, and they're pretty good.
