    Default Grenada Lake Mississippi

Anyone ever been to Grenada Lake? I heard a lot about it from some guys this weekend and then happened to see it on the sportsmans channel. I hear they are catching tons of three pounders. I posted on Mississippi forum also but figured some of you might have gone before.

Jigboy, made a trip to Grenada last fall. Lake was low at the time and the weather was a bit unsettled but we did catch a bunch of fish. I don't know about tons of 3 lbers but we did catch several over 2 1/2 lbs. Fish must be over 12" to keep.

What do you consider a bunch and are we talking keepers or throwbacks. I went this weekend and caught a bunch but only kept 20. Do you know any guides because I am running blind on this lake right now. Hotels? Thanks for the help.

3 boats caught a limit every day except for one and the wind was really bad so we stayed in. Speaking of that, this lake can get dangerous in short order. Don't know of any guides but I'm sure Miss. Board can suggest someone. I'll have to get the information on the place we stayed and get back to you.

Fished Grenada 4 days once wind blew 30 mph + every day 4-6 ft. swells not uncommon on this lake.

I am just looking at this lake because they have a 12" limit and I hear a lot about it. It did make me nervous when I did a google search and found almost no guides. I have been contacted by one person since but they charge a ton of money compared to other lakes I have got guides on. My trip to Weiss was rough. We caught tons of fish but kept only 20 or so. Weather has been pretty bad and we did not get to go out Sunday.

I had a number for a guide there but last year dropped his number in the lake.....oops dropped my phone in the lake.

I called a local bait shop there and asked them and they gave me a name... expensive.... $375 for one day and due to liability and maybe local law they can only take 1 person out.

    I could not swing it.

Talk to the boys on the Mississippi board. They will help you out.

When we were there the wind blew 30 mph for 36 hours. We had one day we did not even get on the water. The lake is very wide and when the wind blows the waves come up in a hurry.
