They are ready to move shallow as soon as the water temps start climbing I would be starting my trip in 8' to 12', but would keep checking the shallows as it gets warmer as they should be showing up in droves soon. Good luck on your trip.

I would start out deep on thursday and by saturday would be trying the shallow stuff. That is if the forcast is right In my opinion the fish are scattered, so you might as well try a little of everything

Fished Blood River this morning, started off fishing 13-16fow and only had 2 at 10:30. Decided to try and get out of the wind and check some shallow stuff. Ended up catching 7 keepers on the bank in a couple more hours. Were still biting but the trolling motor battery gave out after fighting the wind all morning. The better fish(females) were deeper, but had a hard time getting them to bite. All fish caught on yellow/chart, fish on the bank caught casting w/road runner style head.

Caught some of both, all the fish on bank were male. Way the weather looks they are gonna be in full swing in the next few days, but looks like another cold front first of next week though. No telling.

reporting back in after the trip, caught bigger fish in 12-16 fow, but had the most action with plenty of smaller ones to fight through fishing stake beds in 5 fow
