Default HELP!!! Just moved to Bowling Green need fishing info.

I recently relocated to Bowling Green, I'm looking for any information on places to fish. I am willing to travel within 20 miles of the city limits.

    Thanks in advance

My wife dropped me off at a small park in BG yesterday while she went shopping. I caught a nice redear and 6 handsize crappie from a float tube. I don't know the name of the lake but you can see it from the bybass. There is a KOA campground across the road from it. I was "trolling" a jig tipped with crappie nibble and jig tipped with minnow. Also caught about 4 small bass about 10". We turned off Scottsville Road to get to it. Sorry for the poor directions but I don't know BG that well.

Drive in any direction from Bowling Green and you will run into great fishing. Barren, Green, Ky, Barkley, Cumberland,Nolin, Rough, many, many more. All good. Go to Gander Mountain and read the Ky. fishing map book. It lists many lakes and directions to.

Within 20 miles makes it a little tougher, but try these out.

Barren River (the actual river) there is a ramp in BG off of old Louisville Road at Weldon Peete Park.

Green River (the actual river) north of town there are a few ramps.

Shanty Hollow Lake, small lake also north of town, with a small ramp, you actually go right past one of the ramps on green to get to Shanty Hollow.

Barren River Lake might be right at or just a touch over your 20 mile limit.

Welcome to BG. There is a boat ramp off of Barren River Road. I think it is called the Lonnie White Park. Up or down river has produced some great fishing times when we can't get away to far. We have caught quite a few species of fish in that area.
Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids

    Default Bowling Green

I lived in bowling green for 23 years and now I am only 20 miles from there and the best places to fish are the river and barren river lake depending on which side of Bowling Green you live you can be there in about 25 min. There are several boat ramps on the river, and most are very nice. The place you were at across from KOA is called 3 springs it is a nice place, but never heard of anyone catching anything out of there, but sounds like you did so I might give it a try. They did just stock it with trout if you can believe that. Hope this helped
