    Default Dryden Creek

Has anyone fished Dryden creek on barkley for crappie and if so does it get a lot of pressure. Is it a good place to crappie fish? I have alot of gps coord of sunken brush, but don't want to waste my time if it is not a productive bay.

Yes it gets a lot of pressure I have found any bay with a ramp gets hammered pretty good. It has some good fishing but if the coords you have are well known spots they havent went very long without being fished.

I would put in Dryden and fish it and McNabb since both are close together if you dont have any luck Eddy Creek is only a 4 mile run. All three are capable of producing alot of fish if we can get about three days of stable weather and water it should be good.

About a month ago I took my Dad over to Dryden bay. I had looked at a couple of different lake maps and marked some spots I wanted to try since I had never fished it. We fished for about 3 hours and never got a bump. It was funny to see several boats essentially fish the exact same spots we had just fished so apparently I had marked some good looking areas that held no fish that day. I personally was disappointed with the amounts of structure that I was able to find on the spots. Similar spots on Ky Lake would be covered up with structure that had been placed on them.

I am getting the impression from looking at maps of both lakes and from fishing in both of them that there are just more people sinking brush in Kentucky than in Barkley. When you look at a map of Bear or Jonathon or Big Sandy it looks absolutely eat up with brush piles. These are just the ones that make it on the map too, not counting all the "secret" spots. Take a look at some maps of the bays on Barkley and there seems to be far fewer marked spots, i.e. KDFWR stake beds and marked brush piles.

Seems to me if you want to make a real sweet spot you should pick a creek arm or bay on the east side of Ky far from a boat ramp and build away. Granted by doing this you are limiting yourself on the amount of time you will be able to fish it due to its distance from a ramp and due to the fact that if the wind gets up you may or may not be able to get down the main lake to it.
