    Default Ky/Barkley Lake level

With the lake levels jumping up a couple of feet what do you think it will do to the fish? Will it move them back out or will they settle back down by weekend? I know it was tough Monday.

They were scattered everywhere Monday. No concentration of fish shallow or deep for me. They will stay scattered as long as the water keeps rising. If it stabilizes, they are gonna be on the bank. That's where they were before it started rising. We were catching fish in two feet of water Saturday.
The only way to have a good fishing spot is to make it yourself!

    Cool I would add

I'm on the boat right now & just came out of the Tn. river. Pickwick is already cutting back as are some of the other pools. If TVA pulls this water back out (and they will) the fish will back off and suspend over a little deeper water till it settles down. I really look for the fish to run to the banks like a fat boy to a Big Mac on sunny days. This dirty water will soak up the heat from the sun & warm up quick in the shallows. The fish will alway scatter the first few days after a quick rise but will start settling to the banks after a few consecutive days of rising water. You let the lake drop a couple of tenths & caos sets in for a few days. I look for TVA to pull the lake back down to atleast 357 then let it gradually come back to summer pool. Even though they start raising the lake today to summer pool they will run most of this back out. If they don't I'll be suprised!

Wiskers, How deep do you think they will back off to and suspend? I notice that the weather tuesday is calling for some more rain??? Maybe and inch or so??? This should raise the level ever more?

There's another decent cold front coming too.

All of this weather should really throw a wrench in things.

If the water is fall'n slow they may just back out over 6' to 10' or so. Just far enought to get a little water under their belly. If it starts really fall'n fast they may move out over the ditches & creeks.

I'm ready to get off this thing! Must be nice to be retired & get to fish everyday!

Hey man, try spider riggin back & forth around the edges of the points. Start out wide & work your way in. They're gonna be close to their spawning grounds you just gotta find the sweet spot. A buddy of mine called me today & wasn't hav'n any luck either. I told him to try it & he ended up with 14.
