Crappiepappy, possom ridge has a large picnic area before you go down the hill to the ramp. May be good for a cookout if everyone were inclined.

If I make this get together, I'll probably only be staying there until around 1-2PM or so (at the latest). I have to work the next night (Sun night) and will have to try and get back on my "normal" sleep schedule, before then .... which will mean trying to get home & in bed by 4PM. I will probably have already been awake since 8-9PM Fri night, as it is ... and I don't want to have to drive the 1.5hrs back home, being plum tuckered out ;)
But, don't let that stop you guys. I can be at Possum Ridge in the same amount of time as Settler's Trace. Makes me no never mind which ramp we use. If I make it, I'll probably be there at/around daybreak.

The forecast is looking a little damp for the KY Lake area the entire weekend.
You guys might want to check the forecast since this thing really isn't very far from here.
... I don't know how you managed to know what the weather was going to be ... TWO WEEKS ahead of time  .... but, if it does happen to rain out THIS get together, then I'm not going to set up any more :o I'll let someone else choose the date & lake, and just try and be just another participant. I'm beginning to think I'm snake-bit, in the choosing dept :p

I was actually talking about the one on the 18th but pretty much any weekend when the fish should be biting is a sure bet that it will rain around here. :D
for this Saturday's get together .... is 77deg and 60% chance of showers.
But, the bigger problem will be what the 3days prior weather may do to the lake. If some of those "scattered thunderstorms" happen to hit the Taylorsville area, they could cause the lake to rise several feet, if not flood it.
Current elevation chart readings indicate that the lake has gone up to three feet above Summer Pool, three times this month ... every time on a rainfall of around 1in or more. It's currently just coming back down from being 3ft above Summer Pool, but is still 2ft above (and falling).
I will monitor the situation, all thru this upcoming week. (as I am sure that those interested in the get together will also be doing ;) )
Check back here, Thursday at the latest, and post whether or not you plan on making it (weather & lake conditions permitting).

I plan on being there if the good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, too much and it ain't raining cats and dogs.
Possum ridge or Settlers Trace??
... the forecast continues to change (as usual :p ) ... and the temp is supposed to be 71deg & partly cloudy w/20% chance of precip.
If that holds up, it shouldn't be too awful bad for a get together ... even if only a few can make it. Sorry ... but, when I planned this, I wasn't even thinking of other "activities", like Turkey or Horses. :o
As of right now ... I plan on being there - Settler's Trace Marina Ramp - at 730AM - head out to fish @ 8AM - meet back at Settler's Trace "no wake" area for exchange of info at 2PM (or earlier if majority wishes). Beyond 2PM is open for discusson/decision, depending on success rate or how tired I am :D

REMEMBER - April 30th is the last day of your old boat registration sticker ... you will need to have your new sticker on, and your registration papers IN THE BOAT with you (along with all the other necessary equipment), in the event you should get checked by the Water Patrol. ;)
looks like the weather gods are hacked off at me, as usual. :o
Forecast is back to high 60's and rain with light NNE winds.
Can't seem to get a break, here lately. I'm going to give it ONE MORE DAY, before making up my mind to go or not. Still not over my bronchitis, so I really don't want to spend the day in 50-60deg WET weather. If the outlook changes to "scattered" showers, I might chance it ... but, otherwise it's not looking good for Pappy to make this one.
BUT -
Don't let this discourage the rest of ya'll ;) .... the lake is at pool, and not being pulled much at all (relatively stable), so unless they get a serious downpour in the area, water conditions should be OK.

New job, and ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck to all. My crappie season is looking poor right now. :(
