    Default Barkley/Ky Lake Disaster Areas

    Have a house in Eddyville.

Just was able to contact the realtor I worked with in Kuttawa.

    1. No power, water or gas.

    2. No gasoline available.

    3. No stores or motels open.

    4. Power lines from the Dams to Paducah on the ground all the way.

    5. No power until mid February.

    6. She's lived there 60 years, worst she has ever seen.

    7. Tree's down everywhere several homes destroyed.

Would appreciate any info from anyone in the area.

Drove from Cape Girardeau, MO to Mayfield, KY yesterday to get my grandparents and I would say your realtor has everything about right....by far the worst I've ever seen. I also have a cabin in the middle of the woods near Irvin Cobb on Blood River and can only imagine what it looks like.

I live in Hopkins County, We got our power back this morning. 8 days no power and almost no water. Without a doubt the worst situation I have ever been through. I still do not have electricity at my home (service was pulled off the pole) and a good number in the area are still without. I can say that the good Lord watched out for us or it could have been real bad. Freezing temps, ice, no heat, no elec. no water and no help due to the other areas hit as bad. It is good to be back. I hope to hear from wiskers, Oldguide and someothers and see if they are ok.

71/2 da. without power for me. Temps in the teens several nights. No phone or cell at the first. I had gas and kerosene but no one could buy gas or kerosene because the pumps wouldn't work. If you were able to find any place open (power or not) it was cash only with a guard at the door allowing only a few in at a time. We have everything but cable now. The houses across the street still have no power.......2 weeks as of 7 this am. We were ok after several days when we were able to talk to family to find out that they were ok. We did experience God and that did make it all worthwhile.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the icestorm in Western Ky. There is nothing more devastating to the power grid than ice, hurricanes, and tornadoes, which Western Ky. has had all of in the past year. Hang tough and godspeed to you all. Minnerdipper2
