Not bad for this time of year. How were you catching them?
We caught them using a jig with a skirt and minnow on it about 8-12. Had 3 over twelve inches. When the weather stabilizes next week i'm going to go again!! If I can catch them when they are really biting i'll get my limit they just were slow yesterday but 25 is still good!
I hear ya. Just got my old boat fixed so I may head down as well. Thanks for the info.
Where did you put in at. I guess you can put in at North Fork or can you?
I'm not really sure where north fork is? We always put in at wax or the nolin estates!
How long did it take you to catch 25, and how many different spots did you fish to get those?
Well, we fished five different spots and we only fished about three hours the five spots were close together as well.
I'm gonna hit the lake tomorrow and see what the fish are doing.. But I expect friday to be the better day. What do you all think?
Northfork is locted on Rough River Lake. Thats where I alsways put in. As far as Nolin goes, I used to fish it as a kid and loved it. My uncle used to take me during the summer and we would hang lanterns. We would catch so many that it was unbelievable. I thought it was even more cool when he would hand me a filet knife the next day to clean all the crappie. Today I know I was getting it put to me but it was a time I will never forget. For years I wouldn't switch to an electric knife until I made my first trip to Weiss Lake. That is when I finally gave in and today I am very glad I did.
We used to fish off this one certain point that I have never been able to locate since. The crappie where there for years and I bet still are. One day I will find it and catch a few more in memory of the man who taught me to love crappie.
Until then, I will stick to KY Lake and Rouh River because I know where they are some of the times.
"You should have been here yesterday!!!
